VERBAL IMPACT
Verbal Impact was first established in Massachusetts in 1982. The director, Cathryn Edelstein, opened Verbal Impact after completing the Masters Degree program in Speech Communication at New York University. Her undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Boston University combined with her graduate concentration created a solid understanding of speech, its acquisition, linguistic components and its variables. Through research and years of practical experience, Ms. Edelstein, has created a program to help the non-native speaker of conversational English speak more proficiently without mispronunciations and errors in intonation that commonly create communication problems for both the speaker and the listener. These problems commonly affect the speakers employment and social life.
In addition to Accent Reduction, Ms. Edelstein works with those who experience difficulty speaking publicly. Through training, helpful tips and practice, the client transforms into a solid, more confident speaker with knowledge of what to say and how to say it! Additional areas of consulting include, intonation problems, rate of speech difficulties, speech and resume writing assistance, non-medical voice related problems and job interviewing preparation skills. Consulting is conveniently provided on-site at the client's work place.
